Peach pit

BIOMIMICRY

THIS IS YOURS

My inspiration for creating this piece came from a peach pit. The peach pit is almost hard like a stone, but still fine and filled with little unique details when you look closer. Furthermore, it gives life to new peach trees - therefor I wanted to focus on the functional principles of giving new life, and on the little details.
I wanted the garment to be rigid but still transformable. By using 100% natural agar agar made by seaweed, the garment became stiff, able to transform and clings to the body underneath.
I tried biwax and polyfilla with oatmeal, but only agar agar gave the right surface.
The product is customizable, as it transforms by simply placing it in boling water, fold it in new ways
and adding agar agar.

Entrepreneurship and Social inclusion

In this project, we made a collaboration with some syrian refugees.

Trough waste clothing we had to made some styles for some of the refugees.
I got 3 teen boys and made a brotherhood symbol out of the meaning of their names.
I made a quilt jacket and som big camo  pants.

INDEX - Design to improve life

Trust Color

In 2020 EU has a goal about 50% recycled waste. In Denmark at the moment we only recycle around 23%, therefor we decided to make a koncept that will make recycle easy.

The koncept was named Trust Color because we want all packing to have small colored marks to match with the right garbage bin.
On the garbage bin the colored stamps will be readable for blind as well.
We developed the colored stamps by using phenomenology.

Futhermore we made a garbage bin for arpartments.

Fashion Narratives for the Future

Vivienne Westwood // The World

In 2030 we need to educate the worl to show solicitude for all mankind. We need to pay homage to different cultures and traditions. Therefore I made a project were Vivienne Westwood would produce clothing in different war affected cuntries. The workers will receive education while working at the factory.

I used this key findings:

Empowerment, Informing, Touched by human hands, traditions

The main fabric in the collection is recycle military fabric. I used this materiale to focusing on that part of the history were soldiers and military was a big part of the history.

I wanted to show that part, to make the people proud of their country and what the country has overcomed.
I have used Burkina Faso in this collection and used their traditional colors and methods to decorate the styles.
